This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Pay Monthly 2 Recruit who is operating as an employment agency.

 

Our Client is an online drinks retailer. They are a small vibrant start-up business nested in the quiet countryside between Tunbridge Wells in Kent and Crowborough in East Sussex. The business is currently small, but there is significant financial backing and a recently assembled leadership team with the attitude and aptitude to grow the business significantly.

The culture is very much one of very hard work, but also great fun. They ignore the usual conventions of dress code. The successful candidate will have sense enough to know that if they’re meeting a client one needs to dress to impress.  

 

The successful candidate will be expected to implement the technical web design aspects of our e-commerce vision as well as add builds to the strategy and vision of the platform and business.

The core responsibilities will be,

·         Building web front ends to an agreed design in Flash/PHP/html/css/etc...

·         Working collaboratively with agencies and other members of staff to discuss and agree the design and features of the e-commerce platform

·         Working collaboratively with agencies and other members of staff to discuss and agree the design and features of back-end database systems

·         Support the consultancy side of the business with web design

·         Help the business to develop a range of assets such as images and other content (text, user generated content, etc...)

 

The candidate must be outstanding in the required skills (below), or be able to convince us that they have a strong desire and ability to become outstanding at them. We don’t mind training, or facilitating training to help fill gaps, but the candidate must be thirsty for the knowledge.

·         Flash (absolutely essential)

·         Web graphics (Photoshop, fireworks, etc..)

·         CSS

·         XHTML

·         AJAX

·         PHP

·         SOAP

·         XML web services

·         C# or equivalent

·         Database design/build skills on a range of platforms (MySQL, SQL server, etc...)

Great fun

·         Thirsty for knowledge

·         Outgoing (able to talk directly with agencies and clients)

·         Visionary (able to add value by improving our vision, not just helping to deliver it)

·         A self-starter (will need to be able to work without supervision)
