ICT Internal Account Manager: Education Sector OXON. Basic £22k-£32k + Comm (33%)

Our Client is the UK's leading supplier of ICT to educational institutions from primary schools to colleges and universities. They design and implement innovative software and hardware solutions while also providing ongoing system support. They are looking for an experienced Sales Group Leader
The Internal Sales teams is responsible for the significant majority of the Company business - managing accounts, identifying prospects and co-ordinating resource to develop relationships and close business. They will work across the complete portfolio of product solutions and services handling activity of significant order values.
As an Internal Account manager you will be responsible for the patch target, forecasting for their territory and for delivering the business against the target and forecast. You will involve field sales and specialists as required to achieve the target and forecast. You will need to work effectively as part of the Internal Sales team, reporting to a Sales Group Leader in delivering the overall Internal Sales targets for the area.
Main Responsibilities
· To promote the company website as the main sales channel for run rate business.
· To develop strong, long-term relationships with the key contacts within the target group of schools
· To develop and implement effective territory sales plans to ensure appropriate focus and effort is given to customer segmentations to deliver the territory order intake and margin objectives
· To provide the Sales Group Leader with an accurate gross value sales forecast on a monthly basis and other reports as required
· To continually improve customer care and satisfaction ratings through the effective management of Accounts, with timely and appropriate response to customer queries and complaints
· To use available Field Sales, Infrastructure and Education Specialist support appropriately to ensure order intake and productivity targets are met. Where the value of the current opportunity merits it, the Internal Account Manager will decide where field-based resource is needed to progress the sale. When the need for a visit is identified, clear objectives for the visit must be set to ensure that it is an effective use of a Field Sales person’s time
· To be responsible and accountable for the overall customer sales relationship and to ensure that targets for customer contact and account management activity are met
· To maximise the long-term business from Accounts by ensuring a high level of new and repeat business, and by up-selling and cross-selling the whole range of company products and services.
· To achieve the order intake and margin objectives for each market and product/solution line, maximising business from a defined territory.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
· A-Level standard education, ideally with a minimum of two years successful sales track record - or Degree standard with relevant work experience including sales.
· IT related background.
· Influencing and negotiation skills.
· Strong customer care and communication skills – verbal, written and electronic.
· Planning and organising skills to handle the workload, and to prioritise activities across the territory.
· Problem solving skills.
· Knowledge of education objectives, issues and policy.
· Ability to build and keep up-to-date a personal customer base covering customer issues, personnel and business potential.
· Knowledge and understanding of the assigned sales territory (including discounts, LEAs, key contacts, initiatives, funding etc.).
· Internal Sales staff will need to build and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Company solutions, products and services.
· Skill in the use of in-house systems and standard applications.
· Manage the relationships with major accounts.
· Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the full product portfolio and be able to engage in discussions with Head Teachers and Senior Managers, identifying how best the company can support them in moving forward.
· Accurately forecast business.
· Have significant experience in managing accounts and building long-term relationships.
· Be skilled in identifying and resolving issues with customer satisfaction, influencing internally to ensure that the problems and the causes are addressed.
· Demonstrate a proactive approach to account and time management, consistently exceeding targets for activity and contribution.
· Have well-established relationships with other team members and contribute effectively to all stages of the planning and sales process.
· Be skilled in following up after Field Sales visits, identifying opportunities to move the sale forward and minimising the need for face-to-face follow up by Field Sales.
