Our Client is a Training and Recruitment Consultancy business based in East Sussex. For 20 years they have been a provider of people development and training services to individuals & businesses
They are looking for NVQ Assessors to work within their Health and Social Care Training Team in West Sussex. Industry experience is essential. Applicants should hold an A1/ D32 assessor award. Full time, Part time, & Freelance available. 
 

Job Description Assessor


Responsible for: Training and assessing learners in the workplace, so that they have an enjoyable learning experience which encourages them to remain on the programme in order to achieve an apprenticeship award or an appropriate qualification.

 

Objectives
Quality and Delivery-
• Ensure an effective induction is carried out at first visit, covering Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and the Apprenticeship process
• Ensure the learner understands the Apprenticeship programme and the NVQ process
• Ensure learner and employer understand the content and processes of the Apprenticeship Programme, the NVQ, Key Skills together with the relevant enhancements and  Certificates where appropriate.
• Involve the Employer at all visits to reinforce his involvement in the learning process
• Ensure the Individual Training Plan continues to meet the learner's requirements and is kept up to date with any changes which may occur and also document that the employer is aware of such changes
• Carry out training and assessment in the workplace
• Plan all activities involved in the process - assessment visits, reviews, observations etc and show evidence that planning has taken place
• Ensure the learner is producing cost effective evidence in accordance to the required standards, performance criteria and range
• Identify any further training needs, record and resolve with the employer and training manager
• Review learner progress at regular intervals with employer, plan the way forward and document
• Document any training carried out by the assessor and the employer
• Support, coach and mentor learners where appropriate to ensure retention on the programme and achievement of the Apprenticeship framework

 Exceeding Expectations

• Ensure the employer is involved with every aspect of the learners progress.
• Discuss further training options for the learner with the employer.
• Address employer concerns and report any issues to your line manager

Administration

• Complete the activity log for the week in advance and accurately record actual for the current week
• Keep a monthly plan of visits
• Ensure all LSC paperwork is completed accurately and promptly and on time
• Notify the Centre Coordinator of any cancelled appointments and enter on the Activity Log Sheet
• Ensure work is carried out in an organised and planned fashion and that workstations are kept tidy
• Ensure all paperwork and documentation affecting the learner is accurately completed on time
