Mammographer / Radiographer £32,000 - £36,000 (12month Contract) + Benefits. London (West End)

Our client is one of London’s foremost private Hospitals. Based in the West End they have been delivering high quality healthcare for over a Hundred years and they deliver the highest standards of private medical care in London.
They are looking for a Mammographer / Radiographer to join their team in the Imaging Department for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be competent in Mammography having completed a post graduate certificate (or equivalent proof of clinical experience) and will be working with the Sectra Digital Mammography Unit. The post holder will also work with the team of radiographers covering plain film, screening procedures and, depending on experience, rotation through CT. The usual pattern of work is 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
Essential Qualifications:
- DCR (R) or BSc Diagnostic Radiography
- BSc in Radiography, DCR or equivalent.
- HPC State registration.
- Current commitment to CPD
- Evidence of post graduate mammography studies or equivalent experience
Hours of Work:
· 37.5 hours per week according to departmental rota.
· Flexible attitude required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
· Provide a professional radiographic service to both in patients and out patients with special interest in Mammography.
· Provide and be responsible for a high standard of patient care at all times.
· Prepare for and assist Radiologists and other Consultants during specialised procedures e.g. biopsies, pain management examinations.
· Work efficiently and effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimum patient care.
· Liaise with Radiologists with regards to urgent reports.
· Assist in training new or junior members of staff.
· Report all equipment problems to the manufacturer and liaise with engineers, keeping the Superintendent Radiographer/ Imaging Manager informed.
· Undertake a Quality Assurance programme on imaging equipment.
· Familiarise yourself with the cardiac arrest trolley and policies.
Non-Clinical Responsibilities
· Ensure all outpatient paperwork is fully and correctly completed.
· Make appointment bookings and ensure the patient is aware of correct preparation.
· Ensure all request forms, old reports and films/ images are available at the time of appointment.
· Be responsible for general stock ordering of consumables required for the Imaging Department.
· Ensure all policies and procedures are current and adhered to.
· Actively participate in the development of the Imaging Department.
· Undertake any other clerical/ administrative duties as directed by the Superintendent Radiographer, Imaging Manager or Operations Director.
· Carry out all administrative tasks logically and accurately.
Training Requirements:
· Complete full departmental induction.
· Attend the Hospital Induction programme.
· Keep up to date with current practice and be aware of new developments.
· Attend any other training/ study days as requested.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
· Attend regular staff meetings
· Attend relevant mandatory training courses (e.g. resuscitation, manual handling etc).
· Comply with all departmental policies and procedures especially with regards to Cardiac Arrest and Fire Safety.
· Comply with all current Ionising Radiation legislation
· Notify the Superintendent Radiographer/ Imaging Manager of any equipment in need of repair or maintenance.
· Ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained within the department at all times.
Personal Attributes:
· It is essential that the candidate be of an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
· Be able to impart information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
· Display a confident manner at all times.
· Must demonstrate the ability to work to a high standard and possess a flexible working attitude, working alone or as part of the team.
· Must maintain good time keeping.
