Job Description
Storage and distribution of corrugated cases is a busy, time critical process which requires hardworking, reliable individuals. The position has a substantial amount of manual handling you will need to be fit and have good health & safety awareness. You will be required to assist with warehouse duties palletising & strapping for next day deliveries, have a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks and operate a forklift to assist with the loading & unloading of vehicles. You will also need to demonstrate basic computer skills as the warehouse operates a full barcode system.
Objective: Perform a combination of tasks within the warehouse and transport area to assist with smooth running of departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
· To supervise and monitor the receipt, despatch and recording of all goods in and out of the loading bay.
· To supervise and operate correct usage of the fork lift trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
· Ensure orders/stock Assembled from load sheets ensuring customer items ed and counted correctly
· Monitor and assist Loading and Unloading of stock or materials
· Ensure warehouse area clean, safe and in orderly condition at all times
· To monitor the work within the unit ensuring that priorities and predetermined deadlines are met
· To contribute to the improvement of systems
· To maintain effective communication with relevant departments
· To ensure optimum use of resources at all time to provide maximum level of service
· Ensure company standards and policies are adhered to at all times
Health & Safety
· Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times
· Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately
· Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems at work read, understood, signed and followed
· Observe & follow all manual handling practices
Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned and when necessary
Responsible to: Warehouse Manager
Hours: 8am - 5.30 pm
Salary: £16,000 - £18,000
Holidays: (28 days) including bank holidays – (5 days to be taken at Christmas due to company closure.)
Essential Skills
· A basic level of Education
· Driving Licence
· Must have a sound knowledge of health & safety issues
· Forklift licence (any)
· Warehouse knowledge/ background.
· Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally
· Demonstrate punctuality & self discipline
· Understand importance of information technology
· Enthusiastic and flexible to working hours & travelling
· Display honesty, integrity, awareness of confidentiality & ethical issues
· Flexible attitude and good team player
· Demonstrate ability to cope with changing situations and pressure of re-arranging priorities.
· Must be fully comfortable and committed to working a late shift
Desirable Skills
· An understanding of manufacturing industry
· Flexi/Bendi Forklift Licence
· Clean driving licence
· (MIS Training provided)
· Previous shift / late worker desired
· Must demonstrate a good understanding of customer service and attention to detail/quality issues
